30 Day writing challenge: Day 11

The idea is to write 150-200 words a day for each prompt and to post it on this blog. At the end of the month, I’ll post the list of prompts if anyone is interested.

Prompt 11: Mirror, mirror.

Tom was right.

I had lost myself. It was time to stop looking for him. There was other people to think of. People who needed me. Daniel had sacrificed himself for my sake, and he wasn’t coming back. In giving up himself, we could go on.

I tried so hard to find him again. I had every mirror they could find brought to me. I had to get him back. I didn’t want to be alone. But all my efforts were fruitless. I couldn’t see him.

“Mirror, mirror,” I said, placing my hand on the last open portal. It was dark. I opened the last sheet to cover the mirror.

“Rachel.” It was faint. I dropped the sheet and placed my hands on the cool glass. I could barely make out his form. But it was him. I knew it. Daniel found me. He was alive. He came back to me.

      1. Cool. How is Life as Fox story coming along? I’m behind on the prompts because I’m trying to get this chapter finished by the weekend.

If you ever want to brainstorm Skyrim/lore/headcanon ideas, hit me up. I love hearing about other people’s characters and ideas.

      2. The third chapter is almost ready. I just need to go through it again, and then I’ll post it. Maybe by Tuesday or Wednesday. Sure! I’ve been playing Skyrim since forever, but I’ve only really considered writing about it since a few months ago. Just to satiate curiosity: which is your favourite hold in Skyrim?

  1. Whiterun, but mostly for the city. I don’t know if it’s the associated music “Streets of Whiterun” or my inexplicable crush on Balgruuf but no matter what kind of character I play, new game or old, Whiterun always feels like “home” if that makes any sense.

So, following from that I’ve come to love the starkness of the hold’s tundra even though Falkreath and even the Rift are prettier.
